Argentine Tango

Argentine Tango

This dance was born of the back streets of Buenos Aires & other cities of Argentina. It was not devised by dancers or teachers.

Dance on the ballroom floor as if in a shadowy corner of a back street bar(!) taking hold inwardly, creating an intimate world around yourselves, privately with each other for each other. Then the dance can begin!

Rhythm – This is probably one of the greatest areas of variable interpretation & difficulty in the dance.

Tempo - Loosely around 30-32 Beats per minute.

Pauses or (Loitering) - The Argentine Tango incorporates many pauses for dramatic or musical effect or practical considerations.
